      Countdown Radio

The dial number is the year. No records are on the dial yet. On: the news bulletins play. Off: you read them instead.

News bulletins are re-creations we wrote from the public record. AI voices read them: the American desk on an old radio sound, the Moscow desk on a shortwave sound we made. No real announcer, no real recording. NASA and the Smithsonian made none of it. Not real broadcasts.

      • Space the big button. Hold it for the count. It reads what it does: GO, COUNT, RELEASE, STAGE, CUTOFF, SEP, RETRO, KEEP, DROGUE, MAIN.
      • ↓ nose up, ↑ nose down, 3 degrees a second
      • ←→ roll
      • WS the DIAL on Tune in
      • Enter the second action, when the glass names one (DROP on the bag light)
      • 1 to 4 warp: real time, times 10, times 60, times 600. Warp locks while anything burns.
      • P pause, M sound
      • K Countdown Radio on and off: on, the news bulletins play; off, you read them
      • On a phone or tablet: hold it sideways. Tilt it toward you to raise the nose. The big button is under your thumb, with the WARP stops above it.
